In-House Welder Repair
At each of our locations in Calgary, Edmonton and Saskatoon, our welder service division offers welder repair and maintenance service right here in our shop. Bring your welder, welding equipment, welder accessories or other welding-related items to our location and our team will book it in for service.
Our factory-trained welder technicians can perform service, repair, maintenance, calibrations and rebuilds for nearly all makes and models of welding equipment and accessories in-house.
-
- Capable of testing 115/230/460/575 voltages, single and three phase
- Equipped with analog and digital multimeters, oscilloscope and amp probe meters
- Multiple load banks to test up to 600A DC
- Welding booths available to test weld stick, MIG, TIG machines and accessories
When you choose in-house service for your welding equipment, our technicians will remove the covers and complete full compressed air cleaning of your machine prior to service. Engine driven welders or electric welders coated with excessive oil, grease or coal dust are sprayed down with soap, pressure-washed and dried prior to service. We also offer re-decaling and repainting services in-shop upon request.

Field Service
While we generally recommend our customers bring their welders and welding equipment to our shop to utilize the full capabilities of our testing equipment, we offer field service from our locations in Calgary, Edmonton and Saskatoon.
Field service allows us to service larger welding equipment that cannot be easily brought to our shop and accommodate customers outside of our metropolitan service areas.
Our field service welder technicians can diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, calibrate and perform general maintenance on-site at your location within Alberta and Saskatchewan. Field service welder repair also allows us to assess and troubleshoot onsite problems that you may be experiencing with your welding equipment, such as electrical supply issues, that we would not be able to diagnose at our shop.
While we are not able to load test equipment in the field, our field service technicians will either complete test welding onsite or turn the machine over to the operator for testing to confirm the completion of the repair.
Our ability to provide full turnkey welder repair in the field depends on the equipment, problems found, availability of parts, and the environment for the repair. Occasionally we will have to bring equipment back to our shop to complete larger repairs like replacing a transformer.
New Welder Service Options
As one of the only leading distributors of welding equipment with a service division, Kristian Electric offers a variety of services to customers who choose to purchase their new welder from Kristian Electric. We can coordinate service on your new welder once it is received at our Calgary, Edmonton, or Saskatoon branch so it is set up and ready to go into the field immediately upon pickup or delivery.
For new engine-driven welders, our service team can complete function tests to ensure everything is in working order before you pick it up. For diesel engine-driven welders, we can complete a two-hour engine break-in procedure, or install aftermarket options including a Webasto heater or positive air shut-off. We can also calibrate your new welding machines prior to pickup and provide certificates of calibration alongside your welder’s documentation.
