Investing in overhead crane operator training is one of the leading cost-effective methods to increase safety for your operators, workers and equipment. Proper crane usage reduces the possibility of accidents and unnecessary wear and tear on your overhead cranes, hoists and other lifting equipment.
Did you know the majority of overhead crane accidents are caused by human error?
Crane operator training can help you avoid accidents, injuries to personnel and damage caused by improper crane usage.

Who needs overhead crane safety training?
We recommend all employees who will be operating a crane or and any supervisors working in a shop environment where cranes and rigging systems are in regular use should complete overhead crane safety training.
Comprehensive crane safety training will provide your employees with knowledge of crane safety and safe lifting practices that will serve to reduce the potential of accidents, injuries, and/or fatalities that may occur with improper crane operation.
Overhead cranes, hoists and rigging systems are used as a quick and efficient method for moving heavy materials in many manufacturing, maintenance and industrial work environments. As with any piece of heavy equipment or machinery, proper training provides participants with the knowledge needed to recognize potential hazards and understand how to safely mitigate these risks.

"... Operator requirements
64(1) An employer must ensure that a lifting device is only operated by a competent worker authorized by the employer to operate the equipment.
64(2) At the employer's request, an operator, before operating a lifting device, must be able to demonstrate that the worker is competent in the equipment's operation and knowledgeable about load charts and the code of signals for hoisting operation.

Carey Fowler is an accomplished Red Seal Millwright who brings decades of oilfield crane and rigging experience to his overhead crane training courses.
Carey coordinates and facilitates all aspects of Kristian Electric's crane training program. Since joining the Kristian team in 2015, he has worked tirelessly to revamp and update our course offerings to make safe crane operation accessible to all.
Additional Course Information
All Kristian Electric overhead crane training courses are offered in-person to allow for both classroom instruction and practical training and assessment.
