The 2014 Global Petroleum Show stopped in Calgary June 9-12 and Kristian Electric was represented in not one but two booths! The Petroleum Show, commonly referred to around KEL as the Oil Show, has been a growing expo since 1968 and is now one of the most important events for the oil and gas industries in the world. Kristian Electric began showcasing itself in 1988 and has been attending ever since.
This years’ show saw record attendance, with over 62,500 registered visitors from over 100 countries, an increase of almost 3000 from the 2012 expo. With over 70,000 square feet of exhibits over 6 exhibit halls, it was a show not to be missed.
One of the biggest draws to the show is the outdoor exhibit area. Set up to showcase heavy duty equipment, it was also home to the huge Miller Electric booth, shared by Kristian Electric. Dean Gjertsen and Kelsey Serink were both on hand to promote, inform and demonstrate to visitors the amazing technology behind Miller’s induction heating systems. With three days of fantastic weather and constant traffic, we were able to garner many great leads on the Pro-Heat system.
Meanwhile indoors, Kevin Gjertsen, Mike Walker, John Randolph and Brian Costello manned our second booth shared with Columbus McKinnon and Tele-Radio. They were met with inquiries ranging from special plate clamps for lifting beams, information on crane systems for new buildings and even a special request for a remote system to operate a steerable highway trailer dolly from a pilot car, which can be done!
Traditionally, the Global Petroleum show has been held every two years, however, with the growing popularity of the expo they have decided to make it an annual event. With this years’ show being such a success we can’t wait to see what 2015 brings!
